Welcome to our Annual Christmas in the Park
December 1, 2023

Join us for Cumbee Park’s Winter Wonderland, where there is fun and magic for everyone! There will be games and rides for all ages and a meal that is for sure to satisfy your tastebuds! The first 250 children who bring a $5 gift for Sheriff Cody Youghn’s Christmas Project will receive treats from Santa Claus and his Elves. With many prizes in store, this event is guaranteed to ignite your child’s imagination.

We cannot be accredited for the thought behind Christmas in Cumbee Park, our now departed friend, Ronnie Kelly, came to us with a big idea and a desire to see it come to light. He collected donations to buy the first scene and so it began. It is now 20 years later and we have hand made twelve full scenes and many other pieces to decorate the whole city park. Each year our neighbors, friends and businesses raise the money needed to provide Christmas magic to our children and many more from neighboring communities. Thank you for the vision Ronnie, you would be proud to see the faces it illuminates.

Sheriff Cody Youghn and his Merry Elves team up with Santa

Each of the first 250 children who brings a $5 toy or donation, for those who are more in need than themselves, has private time with Santa and a night of fun to go along with it. This part of the celebration is done to provide Sheriff Cody Youghn and his department with gifts needed to reach the children of Irwin County. Feeding 250 children and allowing them to give to others at the same time has worked into a beautiful partnership and a trust building tool within our community. It has also built a safe relationship between law enforcement and children in the community.
